Fue una oportunidad para escuchar, intercambiar ideas y debatir una pregunta que se vuelve cada vez m\u00e1s relevante: \u00bfc\u00f3mo podemos abordar mejor el componente masculino de los tratamientos de fertilidad?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En reproducci\u00f3n asistida, los grandes avances han transformado la estimulaci\u00f3n ov\u00e1rica, el cultivo embrionario, los estudios gen\u00e9ticos, la criopreservaci\u00f3n y los flujos de trabajo del laboratorio. Sin embargo, la preparaci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica sigue centrada, en gran medida, en par\u00e1metros convencionales como la concentraci\u00f3n, la motilidad y la morfolog\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estos par\u00e1metros son esenciales, pero no reflejan completamente la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ESHRE, este mensaje tuvo una gran resonancia. A trav\u00e9s de reuniones y conversaciones con profesionales de la fertilidad, observamos un inter\u00e9s creciente en tecnolog\u00edas que van m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la recuperaci\u00f3n y selecci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica, hacia una comprensi\u00f3n m\u00e1s profunda de la fisiolog\u00eda esperm\u00e1tica, la capacitaci\u00f3n y la competencia funcional.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Una necesidad creciente en el laboratorio de FIV<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para muchos laboratorios de FIV, la preparaci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica es un paso conocido y altamente estandarizado. M\u00e9todos como los gradientes de densidad y el swim-up se utilizan ampliamente para aislar espermatozoides m\u00f3viles antes de la fecundaci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, estos enfoques no reproducen completamente el proceso biol\u00f3gico que los espermatozoides atraviesan de forma natural antes de interactuar con el ovocito.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aqu\u00ed es donde se enfoca Fecundis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nuestro trabajo se basa en la idea de que los espermatozoides no son portadores pasivos de ADN. Son c\u00e9lulas biol\u00f3gicamente activas que deben adquirir competencia funcional antes de la fecundaci\u00f3n. La capacitaci\u00f3n, la hiperactivaci\u00f3n, la remodelaci\u00f3n de membrana y la interacci\u00f3n espermatozoide-ovocito forman parte de un proceso complejo que puede influir en la fecundaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo embrionario.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Conversaciones que confirmaron el camino<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durante el congreso, tuvimos la oportunidad de presentar y discutir HyperSperm, nuestra tecnolog\u00eda de capacitaci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica, con profesionales de distintas \u00e1reas de la medicina reproductiva. Estas conversaciones confirmaron hasta qu\u00e9 punto esta perspectiva se ha vuelto relevante para el campo. Cl\u00ednicos y embri\u00f3logos buscan herramientas pr\u00e1cticas,  basadas en evidencia que mejoren los resultados en FIV sin a\u00f1adir complejidad al flujo de trabajo del laboratorio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La respuesta fue muy alentadora. Muchas de las conversaciones no se centraron \u00fanicamente en los datos cl\u00ednicos, sino tambi\u00e9n en una necesidad m\u00e1s amplia: repensar c\u00f3mo entendemos la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica en reproducci\u00f3n asistida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para Fecundis, esto fue especialmente significativo. Demostr\u00f3 que la comunidad de medicina reproductiva est\u00e1 abierta a nuevos enfoques que se centran en la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los par\u00e1metros esperm\u00e1ticos convencionales, reconoci\u00e9ndola como un factor cl\u00ednicamente relevante en FIV.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tambi\u00e9n reforz\u00f3 una idea importante: mejorar los tratamientos de fertilidad no consiste solo en generar m\u00e1s datos. Consiste en traducir el conocimiento biol\u00f3gico en soluciones que puedan integrarse en flujos cl\u00ednicos reales y apoyar una mejor toma de decisiones en el laboratorio.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>El espermatozoide merece m\u00e1s atenci\u00f3n<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una de las conclusiones m\u00e1s claras de ESHRE 2026 fue que la biolog\u00eda esperm\u00e1tica est\u00e1 ganando visibilidad, pero todav\u00eda existe una oportunidad significativa para convertir ese conocimiento en impacto cl\u00ednico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durante mucho tiempo, la contribuci\u00f3n masculina al desarrollo embrionario se ha reducido a menudo a par\u00e1metros seminales b\u00e1sicos o a la capacidad de un espermatozoide para fecundar un ovocito. Hoy, la evidencia creciente sugiere que la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica podr\u00eda desempe\u00f1ar un papel m\u00e1s activo en la calidad embrionaria y en los resultados reproductivos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esto no reemplaza la importancia de la calidad ovocitaria, el cultivo embrionario, los factores cl\u00ednicos o las variables espec\u00edficas de cada paciente. Pero s\u00ed respalda una visi\u00f3n m\u00e1s completa de la reproducci\u00f3n asistida: una en la que la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica sea reconocida como una parte relevante de la ecuaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Mirando hacia adelante<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nos fuimos de Londres con energ\u00eda renovada y con una idea m\u00e1s clara de hacia d\u00f3nde se dirige el campo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESHRE 2026 confirm\u00f3 que existe una necesidad real de nuevas herramientas para mejorar la funci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica: soluciones basadas en ciencia, f\u00e1ciles de integrar en el laboratorio y con impacto en la pr\u00e1ctica cl\u00ednica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Fecundis, seguimos trabajando con el mismo compromiso: transformar el conocimiento sobre la biolog\u00eda esperm\u00e1tica en soluciones concretas que ayuden a mejorar el desarrollo embrionario y a
